Hola! 👋
The other day I was thinking about what movies I’ve watched and I’ve made a painting about, some came to mind and one thing led to another and I thought, «I’m seeing a pattern not of movies but of colours and techniques».
ICYMI: «Black Narcissus» painting 🖼️
So I decided to show here some of the work I’ve painted or drew and one or two nuns.
Let me start with the oldest I drew on the list:
This one is from «Children of the Corn». I watched it 5 years ago, and I was able to, because I got it from my local library! 🤯
👩🏻🎨It was done in a bit of a hurry, I just wanted to do something fun and easy and decided to go with this image.
At the time, I was a big fan of using lots of ink and just dark art. Not that I don’t do the dark art thing anymore, but I’ve taken into account my sense of humor and not to take myself so seriously.

Example B
I think I discovered the «Daughters of Charity» and I got very curious about their very characteristic «cornette» . I didn’t think it was very pragmatic but still very iconic.
Throwback Thursday pt 3 ⏪ : some watercolours of nuns and virgins
At the time, I was very much excited with ink 🖋️ since I’ve tried it in the past but never really gave it a chance. It gave a thickness and a boldness, I was’t getting with pencils.

And once I merged it with watercolour, I felt unstoppable.

✨ So there you go, a brief tour to some old my older works. Going from ink to a watercolours.
I’m really happy that you read and went through this journey with me. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll be sharing painting some more portraits about the movies I’ve watched. But right now, I feel I have so many ideas, but not so much time.
As for my progress, I noticed I used to be bolder and wilder, now I’m more pragmatic, kind of. More to the point.
I like it, I just want to reimplement that spark and creativity and spontaneity from before
I’m definitely falling in love all over again with art thanks to this blog.
And also thanks to you, reader.
Because I’m being accountable for my work, showing up, working through it and giving my best, as much as I can. So thank you. 🫂
I truly appreciate all the support and the comments and I can’t be grateful enough.
Now, before I start to cry, I’mma go.
I gotta keep on working over here, painting, housework, chores, existing, achieving my goals… you know it.
Godspeed
